The Story of Dyspute.ai
Disputes between individuals and businesses are often slow, expensive, and emotionally draining. Traditional legal processes involve multiple intermediaries, complex documentation, and long resolution timelines.
Dyspute.ai was founded to change that.
The founder, Renee, a practicing lawyer, experienced firsthand the inefficiencies of traditional dispute resolution and envisioned a technology platform that could simplify the process, reduce legal costs, and enable faster outcomes.
The concept was first explored through a prototype developed during a Bubble bootcamp. The prototype successfully validated the core idea and demonstrated the potential of a digital dispute resolution platform. However, it lacked the scalable workflows and system architecture required to support real-world dispute scenarios and multiple user types.

Translating Legal Processes into Product Workflows
Dispute resolution involves complex interactions including negotiations, approvals, documentation, and mediation. These legal workflows needed to be translated into structured product experiences that could guide users through the process while maintaining legal rigor.
Scaling Beyond the Initial Prototype
While the Bubble prototype validated the product vision, it was not designed to support a production-grade platform. The system required a scalable backend architecture capable of supporting multiple account types, subscription tiers, and structured dispute workflows across individuals, businesses, and mediators.
Handling Real-World Edge Cases
Dispute scenarios are rarely linear. The platform needed to support a wide range of situations, including bilateral negotiations, mediated disputes, and enterprise cases. Complex operational cases also emerged around virtual mediation payments, where mediation costs could be paid by either party or shared between participants.
Selecting the Right AI Infrastructure
The platform required AI capabilities that could support both legal document assistance and conversational dispute mediation. Selecting and integrating the right AI models was critical to delivering reliable and useful AI interactions.

Product Strategy & Workflow Design: The initial Bubble prototype validated the concept but lacked the structural foundation to support real-world usage. Carbonteq redefined the product by designing end-to-end dispute workflows alongside a scalable backend architecture. Carbonteq worked closely with Renee to align product workflows with system architecture from the ground up. A role-based user architecture was implemented to accommodate multiple account types and subscription tiers, including Flex, Business, and Growth — enabling individuals, businesses, and mediators to operate within a unified platform while maintaining clear permissions, responsibilities, and workflow boundaries.

UI/UX Design: The Carbonteq design team developed the product interface from the ground up, transforming complex legal procedures into intuitive digital experiences. The interface guides users through dispute initiation, negotiation, mediation, and agreement generation while maintaining the seriousness and structure expected in legal processes.

AI-Powered Legal Assistance: Dyspute.ai's AI layer is built on a multi-model agentic architecture developed using Convex's agent framework. An orchestration agent powered by Qwen-3-Coder Flash manages workflows and coordinates task execution across the platform. Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite handles lightweight tasks such as context building and validation, while Gemini 2.5 Flash generates legal documents, summaries, and settlement agreements. The platform also supports voice transcription via OpenAI Whisper and OCR document processing via Mistral, with downstream interpretation handled by Gemini models.
